Venmo has announced changes to the Venmo credit card:
New earning rates:
- 3x Dining, Entertainment, and Streaming and when you Pay With Venmo.
- Additional 1x cash back when you split the transaction and your friends pay you back in the app
- 1x All purchases
Previously the card earned 3x in your top spend category and 2x in your second highest spend category.
Thoughts
Not as good for the end user. This model likely works better for Venmo, pushing card swipes and app transactions.
