Allegiant Airlines has announced the acquisition of Sun Country. This is cash and stock deal valued at ~$1.5B. Both airlines will fly under the Allegiant banner.
This merger has yet to be approved by the DOJ.
On the credit card front both do have a cobranded card. Allegiant Always Rewards Visa issued by BOA and Sun Country with Synchrony.
Thoughts
Likely not much to see here for the card churner and travelers of the group.
