FYI: The bonus does not come automatically. I completed all of the required qualifying activities, I made 3 direct deposits (each over $200) and activated the debit card within 45 days, but I still did not receive the bonus.
I waited another two weeks after the 45-day period, and there was still no bonus. I called Customer Service, and they confirmed that I had completed all of the qualifying requirements. However, they told me that the person who sent me the referral link needs to check the referral status on their end and complete some required documentation before either of us can receive the bonus.
It seems like they want referrals to come from people who actually know each other rather than from links shared on internet forums, although that’s just the impression I got from what Customer Service told me.
Easy bonus to get. Don’t forget to activate debit card. Better to do 1 small purchase with it.

Bit sad that it expires so soon so couldn’t find too many DPs on what counts as a direct deposit nor could I risk to test.
