The Verizon card will now let cardholders redeem Verizon Dollars (the points currency) towards a Verizon bill. Prior to this change Verizon dollars could only be redeemed for accessory items from Verizon.
Additionally the new Verizon Shine Rewards program notes cardholders can get 1x for using their card to pay a Verizon bill. Marketing material reads as 4x total (3x for being in Verizon Shine + 1x for the payment)
Thoughts
It’s a long overdue change. Makes the card a bit more useful for some. I’d still like to see that Verizon multiplier higher.
